I have been out fishing with my bf but he isn't really that interested in fly fishing. I have tried my best to get him interested but he isn't mmmmm. I would love to join a club where women are welcome and who organise fishing trips too. I don't like to go on my own for obvious reasons. So any advice of any clubs around the south yorkshire area or beyond for that matter, would be very very welcome. I like river fishing, but would love a day out or weekend where I can get out on a boat on a reservior or lake too ohhh humm.

Hi, your best bet would be to get in touch with Ron Clay, he lives in Rotherham and is a member on here, he's bound to know about clubs in the area.

Andrea... join Sprite... a great mix of all types of angler....

Most clubs have some women members and in some cases they are better at throwing a fly than some of the guy's.

We have a fly fishing club at Thrybergh country park, 1 mile from kilnhurst.We meet on a thursday night 7 till 9. Ladys are very welcome there are some lady members and my own 14 year old daughter is also a member.Tuition is given freely in all things fly fishing.So come along and join us.

You could always join the Derbyshire County Angling Club which has a few lady members, puts on regular friendly matches and has winter evenings.

The fishing available is second to none, with club waters near Retford, Ogston, Hoveringham, Willington, River Idle, Derwent, Dove, Manifold plus tickets on teh alrger waters Foremark, Toft Newton, Ladybower, Carsington & Blithfield. There is also quality coasre fishing venues in the smae geographical areas. All for £210 per year plus a one off joining fee of £280.

No more day tickets to buy ever.
