Default Wading belts

Please may I ask the Forum members for advice on wading belts.
After a couple of hours fly fishing on the river my back aches .
I have therefore decided to purchase a belt with a back support.
Looking through the Internet I see there is quite a good selection,
however the largest size seems to be 51”.
On measuring myself I think that- that is about the right size for me.
( only polite comments please)
But will I be able to bend down to net a fish when I am lucky enough to
catch one.
Is there a bit of play in these belts?
I already feel a bit overdressed with my chest waders, fly vest and all the
other attachments.
Is this an item- too far?
There must be some big lads out there, so a bit of advice from you would
be appreciated. Peter

Hi Peter, you are not alone, I too suffer back pain on the river.
It is just due to the stance I take in the water, I think.
Leaning forward and keeping low type of thing, bending into the current.
I just wear an ordinary wading belt, as supplied by Orvis, but I can't see the wider ones causing you a problem, if they are just wider around the back part.
It shouldn't make a difference to you leaning forward.
Good luck with it.
Steven.

I use all the time with chest waders.Attach wading stick cord to it so it doesnt get lost.No problem with bending.Just make sure you squeeze the air out of the legs before wading deep otherwise your bottom half gets a bit bouyant. Dave
