Cambridgeshire trout syndicate seeks new members
Cambtidgeshire trout fishing syndicate.
Also osted in still water updates on this forum.
The Mayfly Fishing Society is an established syndicate of 23 anglers that rents, stocks and manages a five-acre reservoir near Chatteris in Cambridgeshire.
This is a fly only water with no catch and release.
The lake is on a farm with controlled access. It has various depths of up to 30ft. Gin clear and reed fringed, with cut swims. Members can fish the lake from March to the end of November.
Last season there were 4 stockings of Rainbow trout, totalling 550 fish ranging from 1.5 to 3lb. Catch returns show 244 fish were caught by members. Some over wintered fish show up early in the season. We only stock quality fish which respond well when stocked.
The lake is not heavily fished and you can often find you have the place to yourself. Members complete a catch return/receipt book each time they fish and receipts are paid for to the society secretary at the end of each month.
Fees: New members pay an initial joining fee of £55 and all members pay an annual subscription which is currently £100 for a season.
Members can fish the lake up to twice a week with a limit of 6 per session, taking a maximum of 12 fish a week. Fish taken are paid for monthly at £3 per fish, regardless of weight.
Established members can invite a guest to fish with them. A guest ticket costs £10 and for this fee the guest can fish take up to 3 fish at no extra cost. The member is responsible for ensuring that the guest fee is collected/paid to the secretary and that the guest adheres to the Society’s rules.
This is a small, friendly society with limited places available and represents good value for money trout fishing.
If you would like to be considered for membership from March, PM me and from 1/03/2010 I can offer you a Free trip to the Reservior to see what you think.
We are currently looking to expand membership by about 6 people.
