Default New to the sport

Hi guys

ONly been fly fishing three times now and caught each time so things are going well

Was looking for some tips

Currently fishing the fisheries and was looking for some advise on tactics etc

I have only been fishing a single lure and varying how fast I retrieve

Whats the deal with sinking tip line, buzzers, nymphs etc

The guy next to me last week had a sinking tip on and just left it out there, whats the deal with this?

was also thinking of trying to get two fly rig on the go and try some more natural flys rather than the lures this weekend

any advise on anything

Thanks

I would try using the search function, there will be lots of advice on all those subjects already.
In answer to your question some types of flies are fished static.

As Ryan says, what still water are you fishing,? it's always a good idea to say where you are located. then the advice will come flooding in, every place and tactics are different. Cheers

I can recommend a book.''Trout from stillwater'' by Peter Lapsley
This will answer all your questions + more you didn't ask.
Get it from Amazon.

I have a tip. Actually I don't have a tip - I'm three tips short of a good day out on the water.

Don't hold your rod by the thin end when changing a fly.

Other than that, the book idea is a good one. As is the natural fly thing, but for that you need a book to know which natural to fish! If you see a natural fly for real, try and find something similar in your box and give it a whirl.

It might be worth giving the two flies thing a miss until you're sure you won't spend half the day untangling them..

Thumbs up Fishing

Hi,just keep trying different things, take the line in quickly, then slowly, short fast twitch,s slow long pulls...try absolutely all different speeds on different waters, and as was said wisely in an earlier quote, ask someone around you,and give the natural flies a go,u could be suprised....or maybe not...!!!
