Default Advice please - 5-6ft rod

Hi all
am looking to buy a small stream rod without spending much cash (we yorshire lasses are well thrifty, though perhaps this isn't a well known fact). I have a fladen 7ft, 3 weight which, tho unused as yet, seems tidy enough for the money. However, would like something shorter -say 5 to 6ft? would appreciate any advice, - i have no qualms about buying on internet, ex uk, etc (please, no hate mail or threats ). Anyone bought something similar - and i DO MEAN CHEAP!!!
GHG

GHG, do a search on Coasty's threads, he bought a delightful little rod, for little money, and did a review on it.
If you can't find it, PM him, he's a Yorkshire mon and will be only too willing to help you I'm sure.
Steven.

How about holding your current rod further up? There is also a school of thought that suggests around 8' is as short as you need - it clears the bank and some people find standing off easier than kneeling down.

I would say anything shorter than 8' is a conceit. 5' becomes a philosophical statement: you might just as well use a bit of twig culled from a handy tree.

As to cheap.. send me an SAE and I'll do you a four piece 5' twig by return. Cheap is for budgies and six-year-old sweatshop children.

The rod is required for fishing brooks, arrogance is almost as unattractive as conceit. Pretty cheap of you to request an sae.....
