Default Can you straighten new line?

Good morning chaps & chappesses. Been out this morning & nailed 6 fighting fit rainbows in an hour & a half at Curleys in Horwhich (Lancs)
Didnt get a touch for 30 minutes then changed onto a green & black fritz with two red bead eyes (anyone have a name for this magnificent beastie?) & bingo! Trout fest almighty!.... Enough of my bragging (after blanking on 2 out of 4 of my last outings!)
Question is, I recently bought a Hardy #7 intermediate line (not cheap) & when I cast out, looks like a curly wurly! Its beigining to straighten out a little, but I was wondering if any of you trout Gurus had a quick fix?

Any initial memory should fish out, however you could give it a wee stretch throughout its length of the head & belly, every couple of ft.

First ensure there is no twist in the line, otherwise if you stretch a line with a twist in it, that's it, twisted/kinked/coiled for good.

Swivel & post method for ensuring any twist is first removed.

Is it a clear inter? If so it will have a mono core as opposed to braided core and they will suffer from more memory than others, especially in colder weather.

Default Cheers pirate

My mate just bought some line from you & swears by it...... a sight cheaper than I paid, so I'll be putting some business your way when I need new lines, ta.
By the way, what on earth is the swivel & post metod?

Sorry mate, I'll explain.

Get yourself a sea/coarse fishing swivel and some string.

Tie the string around a tree and attach the swivel.

Tie another piece of string to the loop on your flie line and attach that to the swivel.

Walking backwards, unwind your line until it is fully off the reel, lift it and give it a pull, not too hard though.

This should take out any twist.

Another good method is to simply get your line out the back of the boat whilst motoring slowly, first ensuring you have no leader and flies on.

Hope this helps.

The Pirate.
