Default what is the most unsporting thing a fellow angler has done to you during a comp

would just like to here your stories, i had a fellow zoom past me while i was drifting, so close he cut my fly line in the process

I was not fishing a competition but on several occasions, particularly on Draycote, I have had competition anglers encroach very close when I have been shore fishing and playing a fish.

On one occasion myself and a couple of guys hit a school of stockies. We were all catching a fish a chuck, only about 15 yards or so from the shore. A small flotilla of boats got in as close as they could to us.

I've hated competition anglers ever since.

Noisy sods!!

What makes you think they were competition anglers Ron????? Can you back your hatred up???? I think you'll find that both pleasure & comp anglers are guilty of this. Not all though.

Please!!!!!!!!!!! let's not get Ron going no about comp anglers.
Ron,just because i fish in comps doesn't mean im a ass***e when it comes to other anglers enjoyment.
Could you please stop tarring us all with the same brush.
It is starting to wind me up.
When Draycote reopens i will keep a look out on the sheet for you and come down the bank and introduce myself! see if i can change your views.

Many thanks Craig Smith (draycote flyers)

Before comp referee/steward/fishery manager type thing says 'ignore the buoys, park where you like'. So i park a full cast from the bank where i know the fish are (i do my homework). Prik (obviously realised i was onto something as i darted for the spot) parks 10 feet in front of me.
Me: wtf do you think you're doing you C*** (i wasn't happy and may have reacted in an unsporting manner!)
The prik: He said park where you like, so i did.

Nothing got done about it. Oh and guess who won the comp...

Hmmmm. It's a competition. The point is to win, not be sporting.
