A QUESTION! - For Stick makers!

When fitting a Brass Ferrule or metal point ferrule to the end of a wading stick! What should one use to secure the ferrule in place; or how is this achieved, apart from just ensuring a really tight fit on the stick? is there a special adhesive that will ensure a secure and water proof fit?

Any information would be much appreciated!

I would use some epoxy and a small countersunk brass screw through the side .

Ferules used to be drilled and pinned right the way through ? as Alan says also using epoxy "Araldite"
