Default Okuma Vashon direction wind change L to R

Hi All,

I bought a second hand Okuma Vashon (lovely wee reel) for my B-in-Law but am struggling in fuguring out how to change it L to RHW.

There doesnt seem to be an obvious bearing to flip over and cannot find much online or description in this regard.

Am hoping, therefore, that some 'brain-box' on the Forum may have one and know how to do this.

Here's hoping

Many thanks

Ben

The bearing is in the same place as most Okuma reels.

Undo the two small phillips-head screws that hold the plastic cap on the handle side of the spool.

Remove plastic cap and the spool release lever (try not to lose any small parts).

You should now be able to see the end of the bearing - it drops out easily and replace it 'tother way round.

I'll see if I can find the official drawing.

Edited to add:
There was a really good drawing at http://www.okumafishing.com/support/...ldirection.gif

But the site has been revised and the image has gone!!!!

So I scanned it.

A scholar and a gentleman, Sir!

Thank you very much indeed, hugely appreciated; I will try that shortly!

Best regards
