Thumbs up Pocket sized guide for lough sheelin produced,.

just a small note to forum members that a pocket sized fishing guide of lough sheelin has been produced by brian mc manus of the shannon regional fishery board, "srfb",

the guide not only folds to the size of a packet of playing cards but opens up to unveil a detailed map of the lough, , containing shallow areas, known rocks, marks, ledges, islands, drop offs,
all the known fish catching areas and the drift distances to cover these areas, names of all the local points , rivers , and landmarks ,
flies needed and recommended for every month of the season, ,

a big thank you to brian mc manus for all his hard work in producing this booklet, im told that he has another booklet on lough owel almost ready for printing,

angling club information and contact numbers,, boat hire and guest houses in the locality,

this is a fantastic publication and anecessary part of an anglers kit,

the guide is free and can be ordered by logging onto the shannon regional fishery board site, srfb, or by ringing 0579121777 and asking for brian mc manus,

I think you might find that most of the work was done my Damien , I just thought if this was the case he should get some credit for it is all . I stand to be corrected on this if I am wrong , though I am not often

My secret haunts ??? No secrets with me

Think I am ok as far as the Sheelin one goes but will be sure to grab one for Owel this season as will be fishing there a fair bit and it is new to me so the guide should be a big help

Havnt seen or heard from damien , he moved his boat to crover and fishing out of there now,
no mention about any input from him but a picture of him and gene and micky ,
really good booklet,
fantastic map danny , all areas named and shallows marked etc,

owel will be done in a week or so,

not sure about lene as its a eastern region fishery and not shannon ,

Ah well whoever put it together , well done.

I am sure it will prove invaluable to people that don't know the Lough .
