Default Have I bought the right rod?

Good morning guys. I have just bought a new 11ft #7 3pc hardy demon for£99 direct from Hardys Alnwick (gets delivered today)
I really wanted a 9'ft 6" but they didnt have any left at the sale price.
I already have an 8ft 6" #4 Hardy Demon & love it too bits on small stillwaters.
Will I be able to drive this 11ft model (flegling fly fisherman) or have I bought a pig in a poke?

I,m pretty new to the fishing but have no problems casting an 11 footer. they do feel a little slower but you,ll soon get used to it
it,s a great size for still water fishing. And it,s definatly a bargain at £99.
it could also be a good seatrout rod i,ve never cast one so i can,t comment
Good luck with it Alan

I had a cast of the 4 piece 11ft 7# last week and it felt very nice easy to load and to Cast with. I expect the 3 piece would be a little less stiff. The Guy selling did not seem keen to try any other makes of reel on it so I expect it only takes a hardy reel easily.

Looking at your Avatar have you got very tiny Children or is that a Lump of a Rainbow

If you fish from a boat in the traditional 'over the front' style then it'll be ideal allbeit at a 7wt a little 'heavy' but good for windy days on bigger, exposed waters.

Its only a bargain if it is suitable for the job in hand. Personally I think you will struggle.

It is not ideal for bank fishing. As stated above it is designed for 10yrd casts in front of a drifting boat''traditionalloch style''
It is not an ideal tool to lean with.IMHO

At 11ft it's a tad too unwieldy for bank fishing, IMHO, still, it'll help build your casting muscles up Stick to 9' or 9' 6".
