Default Weekend break

Hi people,

A friend of mine and I were thinking about heading out to Wales for a weekends trout fishing break. Can anyone recommend any places, preferably having both the fishery + accomodation on the same site.

Thank you,

Jonny XXX

Hi Jonny,
Have a look at the Tynycornel hotel website. This hotel overlooks the lovely Tal-y-lyn lake which holds wild and stocked Brown Trout and a few Sea Trout in the summer.
Stopped by there for a pint and a look at the lake last year, will be going this year to fish its a wonderfull place.
Regards Steve

Hi Jonny
It depends on what kind of fishing you are after, I agree with the above post for Tal-y-llyn, a cracking liyttle reservoir. If you fancy a small water with a great pub 2 minutes away, try Felindre near Swansea and stay at the Shepherd Country Inn. Cracking fishing, good food and beer and a friendly landlord and crowd in the pub!
I'm sure others on here can recommend suitable places to stay for the rivers, I'm close enough to the Dee that I don't bother to overnight.

Thanks for the reply Paul.

Was thinking of fishing a medium-large stillwater for rainbow/brown trout.

Anyone else with other possible places I could visit?

Thank you,

Jonny

Only small water being about 5 acres but a cracking fishery with accomdodation on site. No pub within walking disctance though.

Garnffrwd Country Holidays

The other and slightly bigger is Gludy Lake, Brecon. There is a website but don't have the link to hand.

If you are going when the rivers have opened then you could do worse than fish Usk town water, there are a few places to stay in Usk such as the 3 Salmons hotel etc
