Default fly fishing for coarse fish

I'll be doing some coarse fishing on the fly this year. I'm sure there have been similar threads before, but how does the technique fit into the game and coarse close season, particularly as the waters I intend to fish will contain coarse and game. Surely the EA won't withhold prosecution on the basis of what you intend to catch. For instance, parts of the Blythe (Warwickshire) are stocked with trout, but its full of coarse fish. If I'm fishing a coarse stretch (in terms of the day ticket) but I'm intending to fish for trout and it's closed coarse season, where do I stand, and visa versa.

Hi Proffdenton I fly fish for coarse fish, but only in the coarse fish season there are not many trout in the river. A couple of times I have caught a trout accidently while flyfishing for roach it can happen you never know what will take the fly. If this happens and there are trout in the area I will return it move away and leave them alone if they are not in season. To continue to target the trout would be an offence and if you are seen you could be prosecuted.
The same applies if you are fly fishing for trout in season, if you catch a coarse fish out of season and they are in the area return it and move away.
To continue to persistently catch out of season fish is an offence and unfair to the fish.
If in doubt find out who your local balliff is and let him know what you intend to do this will clear up any problems if he sees you on the bank. That is what I did.
Be careful and dont take the mickey dont try and pull the wool over the eyes of the bailliff by lying and telling him your fishing for perch when really your after trout.
You must be fair to the fish and other anglers who obey the law.

Your points are noted, my intentions are honest though, and your arguments will help when getting permission to fly fish for coarse, in season. But, how do I stand attempting to catch trout on a coarse water in the trout season, is my word good enough.

if they know there's trout in there ,they should not have a problem with it at all ..

I do the same on Swale- chub in season, ditto trout and grayling. You need a good stock of both to maintain credibility though.I remember the days when peope used to fish the Ouse for 'trout' at Dunsforth March- June and oddly enough were troubled by Chub and Bream.Possibly because I doubt if there was one trout a mile in the river
