Default Robson Green Extreme Fishing

Is Robson Green (AKA Laughing Boy) a jammy barsteward or what.... Whatched his show tonight, fished up the Zambeze for Vundoo catfish, Tiger fish, some tiny little spratty things and finished up shooting these big f*** off rapids to fish below the Victoria Falls.....Plus he got paid for doing it!!!!
The only unlucky ones were the guides who had to humour him!! Him and John Wilson were made for each other!!

Can we merge all these " I hate Robson Green , he's such a **** " threads into one , then people who don't give a toss doesn't have to see the same crappy topic resurrected every few weeks.

Reading threads about people moaning about the geordie git is getting more frustrating than the geordie git himself.

Don't watch it, simples !

Ignore the whingers, it was a great show, Robson's humour was spot on, and, you know, he has that professionalism that makes a connection with people.

I think in this regard he differentiates himself from media amateurs who try to entertain piscatorially, failing miserably, in my opinion at least, in the process.

Can't wait for next week - entertaining, fun, exciting.

The publishers of our magazines and writers would do to watch and possibly learn a thing or two.

Tight lines

I watched it last night and really enjoyed it. I think C5 has taken to heart some of the comments made here, and toned it down with regard fish welfare. yes, the Vundu was killed, but it was said that it'd feed the locals, which is fair enough. Green is a bit of a *****, but he was less egomanical this time, and just exuded excitement, which is fine too. overall, good 'thumbs in bums brains in neutral' entertainment imo.

Mmm I must admit it was still a bit cringing but more entertaining. It would be nice if it was a fishing show rather than a destination show with a presenter coached to be a bit 'extreme' in his enthusiasm.

I must admit that whilst the first series made me want to throw the TV out of the window, last nights show was much improved. It would be much better if he didn't have to do the 'shouty ****' act. Even the missus watched the whole program - she cannot stand fishing shows and thinks Robson is a complete tool, but as she said at least you see different landscapes and locations rather than say Wilson fishing the same water for the whole show.

It really would help if he wasn't on the programme. He is more suited to nineteenth century music halls than the river banks. The soundman could do a better job. No let me correct myself the clapperboard boy could do better.

Superb locations C5, just get the singing detective back to the North East please!

Not sure why you seem to be critical of John Wilson?

He presents a straightforward fishing programme, catches a few fish, full stop.

Ok he often has a beard, but men of a certain age do sometimes think that facial hair or pony tails make them look cool, but he is hardly unique there.

Easily the finest two presenters - Green & Wilson, can't actually think of any others who might come anywhere close.

Surely the serious issue here is the image it portrays and the amunition it gives the anti's. The fact that, (admittedly based on limited but I believe sufficient experience) I would sooner gouge my eyes out with red hot teaspoons than watch a complete Robson Green is neither here nor there. I don't watch Big Brother or the X factor, strictly come dancing any of the other pulp vision that is available on the airwaves, but I don't hold it against those who do - includng members of my own family who are better educated than I.
Perhaps what we should be doing is giving greater prominence if at all possible to those programs (eg through the country tv channel) which promote a rather better image of the sport ? Another series of Accidental wouldn't be a bad response!
