Default lack of cormorants?

Not wanting to tempt fate, but im curious to know if others are finding a lack of cormorants around waters at the minute?
With one of the worst winters, maybe this has been a good thing in this department for fisheries, but weighing it up at least, when it comes to income do you take the weather or the bird.
At least one can be sorted quickly the other not.(sorted I mean shooing it away,Like shoo ,shoo)no mispell.

Is it because most waters are frozen so the cormorants have probably gone to coastal or very large waters to feed, probably be back when everything thaws out, here,s hoping not, ck

Staying next to the North Esk i would have to agree with you about the lack of the black devils. Maybe with the lack of duck shooting they are being used for target practice. I jest only of course.

I would say your assumption is spot on. Now our local river is ice free they are back.....in greater numbers than before!

Theres a load of them that sit on a rock all day beside one of the docks at Greenock.

There must be a couple of dozen sitting on this one rock.

Luckily not had any yet! We have had water open also,I agree with most frozen that could be one thing but from replies they still seem to be about.
Still time yet will be interesting to see what happens as time goes on.
Cant really see a season starting without them, but living in hope.
