If you have a small welding set or know some one who can weld it is pretty easy to make your own from an old office swivel chair..

Scooby

I have used these swivels, however my boat seats are permanently fixed to the boat...but I'm sure they can be adapted as Alanc says

Universal Boat Seat Swivel (Seating and Tables) : Norfolk Marine Online Chandlers UK (Boat Fittings)

Hope this was helpful

Yes alanc i agree i was planning on using one but i did not think it would have lasted very long. I,d rather get the right one then once it,s made i,ll get years out of it.

Had a go at doing one of these myself (Tld style with straps)
was pretty easy 8" square *3/4 inch marine ply. To mount the swivel.
Two rachet straps for £3.00
Seat and swivel £60.00 off flea bay. (exact type used on TLD but in blue)
marine ply £2.00
4*1" inch bolts
A little varnish to protect the ply.
One hours work Viola Job done...

Flipupflipback told me he could supply me with the swivel. when i get it i will be able to make a good boat seat. the seat i,ve got is a single seat from a bus with the back of a p.c seat bolted to it. Realy comfy and suports my dodgy back. The alternative is a biffa large wheelie bin wheel cut acordingly and welded to the bottom of the plate for the same seat that the back support come off. Another posible bearing for it could be this

I,m a bit unsure due to the smallish foot area hence using the bin wheel and i can also lock as a bonus . Does anyone think that would do Any coments welcome......Alan
