Scooby, you can transfer amounts from your bank no problem however, you do get charged for it! You would also need the other persons account details to transfer the money in. Nobody you know have a card? It would be a lot easier.
You could also send postal orders if they are in the UK.

postal orders, cheque or you can set up a paypal account with just a bank account and they then do something like an E cheque but this can take about 2 weeks for the person to receive their money.

Bank transfer will be your fastest method, especially if you are with one of the banks that do the 24 hour 'fast money' system. Phone your bank, they will be able to give you all the info you need

Alternatively, Postal Order or Cheque.

As said above, you can open a PayPal account and transfer money into it or fund it direct from your bank but both methods take time

Your account number will show on the bottom of your bank statement. There will be a sort code which is usually 6 digits and then your account number which is usually 8 or 9 digits long.

You will need to get the bank account number and sort code from who ever you are trying to pay, as I assume that is what you meant and not your own bank account number.
