Default overlook (2009) outlook (2010)

hello guys this is my first thread (hopefully not my last aswell)

i am hoping to start fishing again after one years absence and i was wondering wether we could get a little bit of an overview of last season on a whole from you guys.

id like a few ups and downs highlights and twilights of what made you go to the bank last year.

id like to try and keep this a nice insult free zone please i have been reading some of the posts on these forums and have come across some unsavory threads.

im gonna include a draft of what you could write about below:
  • most productive fishery
    less productive fishery
    most productive fly
    less productive fly
    biggest catch
    worst blank
nicest blank (meening you caught nothing but the day was so nice it made it worth it)
wether or not you prefferd bank or boat fishing

now i do realise that the conditions may make it hard to choose and you dont have to include all of these in your own post you can add your own flavour to the eqution if you feel it has to be said, it would be nice to hear first hand the experiences from the fishing community.

also as a manditory kind of thing id like for you to include your prospeccs for this year

as i havent fished for a year i really can't comment on the first part but i would really like this year to be a nice year with plenty of nice catches and ofc the inevitable blank which are just as welcome to me as the catches

and try to remember that the post before was there view/opinion on what happend last year/what will happen this year

tight lines.

Hi JJC,hard for me to pick a most productive fishery,i`ll give you a few places that i had brilliant sport on last year.Willowgate,Chatton,Alderneuk and Rosslynlee.Least productive is more easy-Burnhouse Lochan!Gave it the benefit of doubt and returned after a few dodgy sessions but i wont again. If i had to pick one fly then it would be a Black Rabbit,it catches me fish all year round. The one pattern i could fish allday and catch nowt is the Apps Worm type.I just can`t catch on it,even when guys all round me are hauling fish out on it.Had a couple of red letter days in terms of catching and had a couple of blanks as well, can`t say either of them were nice!Virtually all of my fishing is done from the bank with the very odd day afloat. For the coming year it`s too get out a bit more often than last year and to try out a few places that i`ve not been to for a few years.Wee Joey p.s. After catching up with the Wye Wizard through this forum after losing concact with each other around 19 years,i`m going to take out my season ticket for the local river,be over 5 years since i had one and even when i did have it i rarely fished it in the last few seasons i had one.
