Default Fly Line Query

Hi, this may sound like a stupid questions but I new to flyfishing. I already have a WF8 floating line and have just ordered a WF8 sinking DI3 line.

My issue is that the sinking line is easily half the thickness of the floating line and the same thickness as my WF5 floating line.

Have they boxed up the wrong line or are sinking lines alot thinner than floating ones?

Don't worry, the lines get thinner in diameter as the density rating increases e.g floater is thickest, inter a bit thinner, slow sinker a bit thinner still and so on.

You should see a Di7 mate, you could string a banjo with one.

Ah many thanks mate - I was concerned as well as with the backing it only fills half a spool now. Well at the least the fly line is correct - i'll now need to get more backing !!
