Default smoking in a boat..............

from the 'Mr Parton standing in a boat' thread i've learned how risky i have been standing up on occasions in a boat.
last season i saw something that shocked me to the core- someone was smoking in a boat. one that had an outboard motor and real petrol. just think of the risks of this......you would think it should be BANNED!
do any of the firmly seated smoke in a boat?

must admit that I smoke in the boat but in my defence I'm usually at the opposite end of the boat to the engine.

If your looking for something to ban please have a look at people who anchor up in the middle of my drifts!!! It's these people who are driving me to smoke in the first place!!

So that's two things I've been got at for in short order . Standing and Smoking in boats !
I wouldn't advise the latter to anybody - the only reason I keep on smoking is that somebody has to pay for everybody else's pensions/governmental non jobs etc and I reckon I'm actually a Patriot !
I really must get out fishing more !

Smoking in a boat is fine, as long as you take your fag end home with you. There is nothing more unpleasant when out in the great outdoors, e.g. walking, skiing, fishing, and seeing these disgusting things dotted all over the place.

Years ago I use to take a camping stove and heat up a curry in the boat but I think that's against the 'rules' now.

I really begin to wonder how we ever managed without life jackets, mobile phones ( single man boats), and the plethora of safety advice.

Having said that my sympathies are with the guys who man the boat docks who must fear for their lives when some return their boats at full throttle!
