They look perfect for SWFF flounder just as they are. What size would they be?

The 'Red Frances' - devised by Peter Deane many years ago is probably the original carrot fly. A ginger girl named Frances, I can't recall her last name, dressed flies full time and may have donated more than a name.

I sat a while with my youngest son (12) at the BFFI with Chris and he was a pleasure to talk to. If you read this Chris my son has mastered the CDC loop emerger you showed him he has a box full, and promises to fish them regularily at Lockwood this coming season.

John Horsey devised a dry fly he called a Carrot fly a few years ago which he used as a sighter when fishing a big wave on Chew.
Its tied on a size 10 Kamasan B400 with a bushy body of claret seal fur and 6 or 7 turns of Red game Cock hackle.
I mix black and red seals fur for my version. Its amazing how gentle the takes can be when fished in a big wind.

A pal of mine nicked on for using as a scater pattern for Sea Trout fishing.
