Default Wellsfield Trout Fishery Remains Open!!!

Hi all,

Found Wellsfields weekly report this morning - they are still open - amazing!
Looks worth a visit

Wellsfield Trout Fishery¬ Weekly Report for Week Ending: 10/1/2010

Wellsfield Fishery is still relatively ICE FREE and all 3 ponds are open for fly and bait fishing with limited spaces on open water.

The ICE PREVENTION WAVE MACHINES & AERATORS have been on 24/7 since mid December and will continue doing a good job.

The ponds have a huge number of fish in them for the time of year as many anglers have not turned out to catch them over the festive period. A bonanza awaits for the anglers who wish to brave the cold thaw! Those that did brave the weekend weather all caught their limits and some purchased double permits.

Last Friday the ponds were well stocked with hundreds of fish on that day, including some very large double figure trout in the 15lb+ range. The stocking policy has remained the same over the festive icy period as we have had open water for fishing.

All Fly and Bait Ponds are open for fishing all winter 8am till 5pm, 7 days. We are fully committed to supplying angling to our customers.

Is is likely that Wellsfield will be open approximately two weeks ahead of other fisheries who are completely frozen over with 6inches+ of ice. Many fish farms and trout suppliers are also frozen so fish deliveries might be difficult for other fisheries – so go to Wellsfield, we have plenty fish!

Club Bookings and Corporate Days are now being take for the 2010 season. Call 01324 822800 for more details or check out Wellsfield Farm Holiday Lodges, 4 Star Self Catering, Health Club, Trout Fishery, Equestrian Centre, Outdoor Activity Centre Stirling Central Scotland

as i said in my other post very little water to fish, good fighting fish tho, and you have to walk on the ice to fish the holes, having fished it on sat and had to take another ticket after 10 mins i think the report is slightly misleading as far as all 3 being fishable and relitivly ice free even talking to the chap in the cabbin he said if it was up to him he would close it.
