Default Thornton Stewart Area

Hi,

I'm up at Thornton Stewart next week (16-23 Jan) with the family and I'm hoping to escape a few times and get some fishing in. I was thinking about Glenquicken, but does anyone know if it's frozen over??
Also, does anyone know if the River Cree at Newton Stewart contains any grayling? or any other good grayling waters nearby that are available to fish?

thanks in advance,
Michael
