Default Scary river levels in Scotland

Scottish rivers are very, very low. If this freeze keeps going for another month as some predict could wild fish be endangered?
what happened in 1963? Anyone?

There was fish killed in 63 but that cold spell lasted 11 weeks. I think were OK for a while yet.

I'm not sure about the effects on the fish, but the river levels are certainly very low. IMy local river is currently just below its mean base level, and this drop has only occurred over the last day or so (it was fairly steadily at base level for a while). You could see this quite clearly:

Default Apocalypse Now?

Hmmm, Ive got a bad feeling about this. What's to stop rivers drying up/icing completely? Why do we now seem to have the somethingest weather since year dot
-practically every couple of months?

would the fish not just move along the river to deeper pools and as long as there is still some running water that should keep things fresh and clean i would think.

I wouldn't worry just yet. If a quick thaw and the possible heavy rain comes we will be looking at serious flooding.

Climate change in our lifetime I would say.

Interesting to think that if overall warmer global temps melt sufficient freshwater polar ice; Britain will be like this all the time coz the gulfstream won't keep us warm any more.

Anyone up for emigrating to New Zealand?
