Question Sumo Distance XS and Spring Creek fly rods

A Happy New Year to all forum members and to tight lines that keep it that way.
My question is, has anybody experience of either of the above rods as I just got one of each at a ridiculous price on fleabay and have yet to use them.
Not being a tackle expert and new to fly fishing I just could not resist them as they look and feel the bizz, particularly as they cost less than £40.00 for the two inc p&p!! thats for a #5/6 and #6/7 both 10ft.
Cheers Benjammin

Never heard of them at all so cant comment on them but one things guranteed, you have just as much luck catching fish with them as you do with a rod over the £100 bracket. Hope you get good use out of them

My first rod was a Sumo Distance XS. Lovely finish with good cork handle and a mid to tip action. I still use mine regularly as it is user friendly and forgiving. At the time I had a limited budget and this was an ideal rod for me. Since then I have used a GRXi and found no difference in the performance.

I have a spring creek 10' 5/6# it's not to bad for the money, I tried to bid on a 10' 7/8# starting price of 99p, but it seems that someone was bidding it up, so I won't shop with Tackle discounts again.

i've got a sumo distance 9ft 6/7 and have caught plenty of fish on it, for the 23 quid i paid i can't complain and as for customer service i've found tackle discounts to be good. would say tho that of the two i prefer the greys g series 9ft 5/6 - its more forgiving....

martin dont be so quick to knock them , i got a sumo xs distance when i first got back into fly fishing and i prefer it to the sonik sk3 i have , i also got a sumo loop for my daughter, and it is a cracking rod for bugging ,they both have damn good actions they are well finished for there price ,and the cork is better than a lot of more expensive models i have seen mate, who knows how long they will be around ,as for customer service i wouldn't know i have never had to send either of them back

I Have a Sumo Loop XS 10ft,#6/7 weight, 4, piece with rod tube! As Bruce said, the finish and quality of cork is superior to to some far more expensive rods! If your a distance caster? then the Sumo Loop XS really can put a long line out; and would also make a fantastic Sewin/light Salmon rod!
