Default Loch Leven

Well it seems all the Scottish lochs are the same lol. but seen as this Loch is a bit bigger than some its time i brought a new update.

went back up today to find it fully frozen and folk walking out to one of the wee islands called the green isle. and in the far distance seeing a group testing the thickness towards the castle island. with many people talking about the Curlers going out to play on it and holding a Bonspiel.
as the weather is set to continue like this and colder for the remainder of the month, right now its - 14 on the thermometer.
hope to head down to the pier tomorrow and see if any curling lads etc are out and join in. maybe walk across to the castle if its been given the all clear to do so.

just a few pics i took today

a couple of trees have fallen with the snow and ice on them.

an other photographer out on the ice near the green isle . just showing how far we were out.

NIce pics James, I've never seen the Loch totally frozen over.

Intrigues me how the guys test the ice thickness without coming a cropper.......must be a dodgy business....
