Default Tcx

Hi Mick, my sons bought me the 10' #7 to get me back inot my fishing following a serious illness as I had no interest in anything at the time.
The first outing for me was hell, could not load the rod, borrowed a Shakespear £39 rod and had a good few hours fishing with that.
I bought an #8 line for it and managed to cast ok, but what i needed was to put more beef on my frame and get my timing near where it was, back to using a #7 and love the rod as I am getting fitter and stronger and use it more. good luck.
regards
Billy

the tcx is an excellent rod , IN THE RIGHT HANDS. i am a sage man, i love them but this rod is just way above my casting standard. it is sooooo fast. if you are a top fly caster then im sure it will be great but on the other hand if you are like the other 90% of fly anglers you might just struggle. get down the shop and try it. its the only way to find out. jon mcmillan.

Sage advice there Get it? I have very recently learned (at significant expense) that fast does not always equal pleasurable or necessarily more powerful. And my experience was the not-that-fast Z Axis - I could cope with it; I just didn't love it. Not sure I could do a TCX. Much more pleasant actions (for me anyway) can still be had with plenty of power. Definitely one to test thoroughly IMHO.
