Default Anyone have experience of fishing in Denmark?

Hi All,

Apologies if this isn't the best place to post this.

I will be spending around half the year in Copenhagen and if I can't fish over here I'm determined to do some over there!

Does anyone have any experience of fishing over there? I'd prefer to fish on the fly but wouldn't turn my nose up at any method (apparantly spinning and beach casting are big over there...?).

Any advice greatly welcome!

Rich

Been to Denmark a few times, usually passing through up North to Norway or Sweden, never fished though mate, sorry. Surprisingly flat place compaired to Norway and Sweden.

Thought I'd qualify that comment as it appears a bit flippant, I've Googled the subject of fishing and there's lots of info. Also checked out my lasting impression of flat land. Turns out the average elevation is 102 ft (yes that's ft not metres). If I was concocting a game plan I think I would look at targeting Sea Trout (something I'm thinking about doing here), strikes me there will be oppurtunities in that area and a good local scene to get into.

Not done it myself, but would love to, the sea trout fishing there in the sea is excellent. Google it to get the info, and bring some saltwater kit with you!

Try searching the forum for some old posts on this, as I know this has come up before.

Here's one of them.

(I also recall some interesting posts about fishing in Denmark by a poster who subsequently went a bit berserk and deleted near enough everything he'd ever written!)

Hi Rich, a good friend of mine, a keen fly fisherman and reel collector, lives in Copenhagen.
PM me your e mail address and I'll put you in touch.

Cheers
Brian

One thing he did leave behind, use Google to search the forum. If you enter this

Click the image to open in full size.

You get 10 pages of this

You can then use google syntax to narrow your search. Have fun.

Sorry for the slow reply!

Thanks very much for the information - I'll use it well!

enigma - thanks very much - it turns out I won't be spending much 'fishable' time there just yet (it's all work I'm afraid), but I will certainly contact you nearer to summer to link up with your friend.

Many thanks all.

Rich
