Default T&S breeks review!!

Evening all,

Nice to see T&S keeping the original ideas flowing with a review in this month's edition of .....erm....breeks?!!

Most amusing is the justifiction they give for wearing this most out-moded and impractical item of leg cladding. .......namely that they don't ride up the leg when wearing waders (presumably the upper classes don't like tucking their strides into their socks then) and that they - and I quote " look smart...in the local hostelry".

Amazing stuff I'm sure you'll agree. Give us more please!

I was particularly drawn to the Musto Technical breeks.Another example of this term being used to mean "eyewateringly expensive for scientific reasons you the buyer cannot even begin to understand".They are a pair of truncated keks - end of.

This was second only in cutting edge consumer service journalism to last months landmark review of flat caps.
It was with feverish anticipation that I tore off the polythene outer cover and turned straight to the article to answer the burning question as to what should be adorning my bonce next season.

There must be something to them as my uncle still wears them day in and day out to work, he's a keeper on the atholl estate. I'm sure if you enjoy solitude while fishing, wearing these will ensure nobody speaks to you. JB

I won a pair at a charity golf event.... well plus 4's. The only possible reason for them I could see was that you only had to wash/dry socks and not trousers.

Still, they were cold, I felt silly and there was something just a bit un-natural about them. I think I'll stick to waterproofs, gaiters or wellies when I am shooting.

I saw the fishing hat review as well. My baseball hat didn't get a look in!

The invention of the beanie may be a step back in design ......... but they damn well work. I have three thicknesses depending on the weather and they cover my ears which is handy as I am not John Wilson and I won't be wearing a deer stalker on the same basis as breeks.

Perhaps we shoul do a poll for next months review ..........

fishing sock hold ups!
Canvas/leather fishing bags?
Salmon taxidermists of Scotland?
Ties to wear whilst fishing

Look, you Scot's have been marketing a skirt as a manly apparel for a long long long time and have admirably pulled it off ........ so to speak. I am an admirer of how you have kept the Kilt as a serious traditional part of Scottish culture.

The Scottish side of my family wear them at every function they can find. Being no blood relative of them and with a long heritage in both name and family of pure Anglo Saxon I won't be wearing one ........ nor will I be wearing bells and waving hankies thank you.

But I still don't think you can seriously go around starting a 'which clothes are manly' debate with anyone taking you seriously.

I think this whole topic just confirms my worst suspicions about the target market for T&S
