I was only thinking about Tree Meadow the other day. It's a really interesting lake (the top one) - I used to have lots of fun there. Bit cold for me at the moment though!

I'll be down for a cup slurp cornwall forum meet?

The lastest forecast seems to show the showers clearing late morning, to a decent day with temps up to 10 degrees, fingers crossed for that then!

I'm thinking of visiting Treemeadow next week
Any tips on flies that are catching would be appreciated
Are the fish all near the bottom now or are any showing on the surface?
I've only ever fished there during the summer and this is my first year fly fishing so am new to winter fishing.
Thanks
Richard

Thanks for the invite, I enjoyed meeting up and putting faces to names ! Sorry if I didn't say goodbye to you all when I left, we were a bit scattered !!

Fishing was a bit of a challenge, lost 2, but I did end up with one for the pot, which was a 3lb 12oz 'bow, caught on a bead head bloodworm, on floating line, 11' leader, with the slowest retrieve imaginable!!

Quite a nice little fishery, I will definitely re-visit next time I'm down there.

Happy new year to you all,
Gary.

Hi Richard.
I fished the top water (The large one) There was a bit of surface activity, but I had my fish after the fly had sunk, and left to it's own drift with the wind.
Buzzers seemed to produce a bit of interest, but I finally caught on a bloodworm.
Good luck.
Regards,
Gary.

Hi Richard

Bloodworm fished deep and slow picked up some fish.Later on buzzers fished higher up the water column seemed to do well, being quite a mild day.

I caught a big rainbow by switching to a sink tip line and fishing a bright coloured lure near the bottom, with a slow retrieve.Wanted to fish a booby but its not in the rules here.

Tight lines

canefly
