Default fishing in lancashire over christmas.

hello everyone, im new to the forum, i live in london and mainly fish rivers. im staying up in lancashire this christmas, i fished the river hodder at slaidburn a couple of days ago and picked up four greyling, slaidburn is a beautiful place, i fished the strech this time last year and had some extreamly big greyling. i planned to fish the ribble at mitton today, but decided to give it a miss as we had more snow. tomorrow im going back up to slaidburn as i have a weekly ticket. does anyone know of any more day ticket water on the hodder....?

No. I think that's it. A very private river.

I think yer right Muddler9. There used to be a couple of stretches where you could have a chuck if you were staying in the local hostelry etc. Sadly though, most of it is well and truly tied up. Might be wrong, but I vaguely remember hearing that Liz owned a yard or two?

Hi Scratch, I think it's a disgrace that there's so little day ticket water on the Hodder, the salmon fishers want it all to themselves.
You can still fish if you stay at The Inn at Whitewell, though you still have to pay for the privilege, so it's a dear do. Believe Liz does 'own' some of it. She's very fond of Bowland; she was visiting this year and stayed at the Inn. Don't know if she fished, though.
