Default Guideline AWM 5#

Does anybody know if a 5# or 6# floater would work best on this rod as i dont want the line to be under-rated for the rod,

By the way i intend to be using a PP line on it if that helps

Thanks

Niall

I use a 5 on mine, without any problems. It can depend on what you intend to use it for. I use on both small and large stillwaters without issue with a #5 line. The action is not super fast so it copes adequately - Personally I would not overline the rod.

Default line

If it states a five use one ,never needed to overline a rod yet

I have a guideline 5 wt and find it excellent with the stated line. I doubt if there is any need or advantage in going heavier.
