Ron Clay is on a distinguished road
Default Roy Shaw 1922-2009

I only learned recently of the death earlier this year of Yorkshire angling writer and photographer: Roy Shaw of Hull.

During the 60s, Roy was an extremely prolific writer and photographer, his work being seen regularly in such publications as Angling Times, Trout and Salmon, Shooting Times, Fishing, Angling and Angling Telegraph. He took a keen interest in the doings of the big fish hunters group I formed in 1962, the Sheffield Based Northern Specimen Group. We were featured on several occasions by Roy's very able camera and pen in Angling Times. and the Sheffield Newspapers publication: Angling Telegraph.

In later years, Roy became a member of The Ridings Specimen Group, formed by my old friend Tag Barnes, along with myself and another Yorkshire angling legend: Charles Derrick.

I wonder how many of you on this website knew Roy Shaw?
