Default Biggar Bridge?

I have a question for the knowledgeable members on this forum.
This year I started fishing on the Clyde at Biggar and I was wondering if the
bridge over the Clyde is called the Biggar Bridge or has it another name.
Also alongside is the remains of another bridge. Was that a road or railway
bridge?
Just another quick question on the area. Further upstream I have been told
that the river widens out. Is that an old gravel workings?
I would be interested to hear about the local history of these places.
I hope that Forum Members can help me.
Thanks Peter

The bridge is calle Wolfclyde bridge and the old bridge was a railway bridge.
There is a old quarry further up the river called Barry's quarry.
Mostly fished for Pike.

Thanks Reidy and Scooby.
I am fishing there quite a lot, so now I know what to call the place.
I heard they propose to have another quarry in the area I wonder what effect that will have on the river?.

If the quarry goes ahead the lamington stretch will be finished for angling for many years.

Clyde River Action Group | How to Object This is the
only way to stop it ? I thought they could not interfere with the natural course of a river system ? if that goes ahead one of scotlands top trout/grayling rivers will be wiped out. That would be criminal.

I have the website in my favourites and have sent the letter of protest to the planners.

I really hope the quarry does not go ahead

Colin,
Do you have a standard letter and the appropraite email address?
I would also send a copy slightly reworded in my name if you have got one.
Maybe others would also if it was put on a plate for them.

Cheers

Munro
