Default Thermal polygon for rainbow

Hi,

I am trying to find a good drawing of thermal/temperature polygon for rainbow trout, if anyone can help, it would be great.

Cheers,

BlueOne

PS:

Perheaps it would not be a bad idea to have a more "scientific" section of forum, for those who are interested in such stuff, habitat restorations, exchange of literature titles (books, articles...) etc.?

A sciency area sounds like a great idea to me, been reading up quite a bit on the colour vision of trout recently and there is some interesting stuff out there.

Would be great to have a specific section where we could suggest stuff and get it dismissed promptly lol.

Dan

p.s. as per the polygon not a clue mate.

Well it sure made me laugh and one can not have enough of that, thanks

But i am still looking for the real one too. It is a diagram with acclimation temperature as x and critical temperature as y and can be drawn for different things like feeding limit, incipient leathal level etc. Normally all that is drawn in one picture.

Although if you are willing to pay for an article about it i think the one below might be of some help. Was a study into the effect of temperature on the behaviour of 10 different fmailies of wild brown trout. I think they calculated optima and performance breadths so may answer your questions.

ScienceDirect - Journal of Thermal Biology : Thermal sensitivity of growth, food intake and activity of juvenile brown trout

[edit] p.s. if you do a search on the homepage of that journal i am sure you will find hundreds of articles where people have done thermal studies of trout. You may even find your elusive polygon. Unfortunately we do not have a subscription to that journal at work so i cannot downlod it for you.

Thank you very much for that link. I already have them for brownies, but to my surprise it is harder to find one for a rainbow....

It seems that hunting through articles shall be the only way.
