Default Tackle Bargains

Not happy that they charge £5 to send a line then even add vat to that £5 (extra 74p)
bit of a rip-off.
Don't think I will buy from them again.
I know not big money but when they state £5 p+p I expect to pay £5.

Is that even allowed then, MM??

Shameful!

They should take a leaf out of Grommit's book!

Unfortunatley this is legal.

As a retailer, when you post something it is classed as providing a service, therefore subject to VAT laws. If I charged someone £5 for delivery, I would actually only get £4.35, the remainder being VAT

However, and here is the crazy situation, there is no VAT payable on postage at the Post Office, it is VAT free. All courier companies have to charge VAT. How they can deliver without VAT is beyond me. Surely they are providing a service also?

If you got a prepaid envelope from the Post Office then there would be no VAT payable, as there is no VAT on any postal service through the Post Office

If you had a prepaid courier envelope, then the VAT would already be included in the price

I'll be honest I used tacklebargains a bit a couple of years a go for bits and bobs and my problem was the same - the postage costs been excessive. I suppose yes I am in the Isle of Man and I don't think there is a "standard" option its all recorded/special I think. One thing I couldn't get my head round is when you bought quite a few items thinking the postage would stay the same it kept jumping up with each item.
