Angry Devon angling centre

At the beginning of the season last i bought a pair of Snowbee granite nylon waders from the above and i had them for a few weeks when they started to leak i contacted them and recieved the same waders but had to post away the others but not long after using these waders the same again happened, so i contacted them and demanded a refund they said they would not give me a refund instead i had to pay postage to send them the faulty waders they then sent me a pair of Snowbee nylons not the granite model these were a cheaper model then these leaked inside 7 outings, i then sent them these waders and said i wanted a refund yet again i did not recieve it as they said there was not leak in the waders but i know for a fact and so does other members as they seen it for themselves bootfulls on every outing, so they said i have to pay to recieve the faulty waders and that i will not recieve my money just a pair of non-useable waders if i pay to recieve them.

So what would you do in the situation? and what should i do?

Niall

Your original purchase was unfit for the intended purpose - therfore you are entitled to a full refund - that's the law. Consequent exchanges and messing about are neither here not there. Demand a full refund (in writing, email will do) as per your statutory rights. Give them 7 days before reporting to trading standards.

Put your demand for a refund in writing again. Tell them they have a time limit of 7 days before you take it further (Trading Standards).

You have to be firm on this mate, let them know the score - don't ask and beg and dither - tell THEM what's what. They are wrong, and you have rights.

Default Damaged Waders

I have just picked up this post. As far as we recall, we collected the first pair of waders and swapped them out with a replacement pair in good faith. When we received the original pair back, it was clear that they had been abused. Snowbee tested the waders and it was also clear that the fabric had been punctured, and leaked because of damage not a manufacturing fault. The second pair again had not been cared for, but in good faith we agree with the customer to supply a different pair of waders. On reflection, we should have just sent back the original waders as Snowbee could find no manufacturing fault. We were seriously out of pocket and could not have done any more that we did.

Default Returned Waders

I have just picked up on this string. It amazes me how some of you guys get all worked up and start wading in pretty aggressively with not knowledge of the circumstances. Snowbee take a lot of care with their products and reputation. When they tested this particular set waders, it was found that the failure was due to damage by the customer not a manufacturing fault. We had already replaced the waders with new ones in good faith and later, even sent a complimentary set of 201D waders, which it would appear the customer subsequently trashed. Just a note, my son had a pair of Snowbee 201D waders worn almost every day for a year fish farming and they still remained in tact.

Default Snowbee waders

Don't give Snowbee too much credit.I had a pair of breathables bought from Exeter Angling and wore them for a week in Scotland ,salmon fishing, in September. On return I dried them out and stored properly and when I came to use them the following June the fabric had "blistered".Exeter Angling were very good and sent them back to Snowbee saying it shouldn't be a problem.
Snowbee did not want to know because of the time lapse. They were not interested that they had only been used for a week. The best I could get from them was the offer of another pair at a "special" price which I accepted, only to find them for sale at that "special" price just about everywhere.I am in no way putting any blame on Exeter Angling as they are a great shop to deal with.I now try to buy Orvis waders as they replace with no quibbles if there are any problems.
Colin.
