Thumbs down Atkins Angling Scammers

This is my latest e-mail to Atkins Angling a company who dont know what customer service is, they take payment immediately upon placing order, their web site says its in stock then after repeated phone calls and being fobbed off time after time, eventually they promise me a refund as they cannot supply my order for yet another week

I am furious and wound right up by these people please see my e-mail text below, I urge every forum member never to do business with this shower as they clearly dont deserve our custom.

I always try and buy from the Trade members on this forum as I always receive excellent service from them all.

Order number 15137 still NOT refunded, despite being promised a refund again today, as you cannot ship any of my order until Friday 18th December and even then its probably another broken promise.
Why do you continually fail to acknowledge your customers?
You acknowledge and take orders very quickly but fail to supply goods in a timely manner, why does your web site make false claims about your stock level?
Why do your Staff never call customers back?
Do you not realize that you cannot treat customers this way and expect to stay in business?
Are you really not concerned about receiving bad press for your appalling customer service?

I guess the answer to the above is you really don’t care, I really don’t care now If you take ages to refund Me as I will get my money back through my Bank, but you will suffer even more bad publicity as a result, I can only hope this results in your business failing as companies like Yours don’t deserve to stay in business.
Your Telephone Staff are very Polite, but useless in dealing with any customer queries, I assume that is because like you the owners of Atkins Angling they really could not care less about the customer.

If you wish to call me to discuss my dis satisfaction It will be a first but Heres Hoping my number is **********.

I've had a similar experience with an online company too, but their name slips me. I bought a pair of waders and pretty much had the same experience as you, I ended up getting the credit card provider involved, got my money back but still never heard anything from them. Shame I can't remember who they are.

It doesn't help but this company have been highlighted before on here for poor service issues and lack of stock.

Hope you get it resolved.

Yep,

Its a real shame especially in light of the excellent service you get from the likes of Gerry's, Veals, The Angler's Lodge and our very own Pirate and SpidersPlus!

At least after dealing with these people you know it can be done well and your stuff arrives quickly and enveloped with good karma . . .

Got to say some times retailers get a lot of stick,and most time it's justified as in this case.
On a positive note I have dealt recently with retailers such as Foxon's in North Wales and found their service second to none. Also just bought some lines off the Pirate and agian spot on service and communication.

Its good to get good service and especialy this time of year when the pressure is on.

Andy Im not diasgreeing with you on this one but I've had dodgy service from gerry in the past, and I've heard some disaster stories too. The rest I totally agree with, phil holding has been a real pleasure to do business with.

martin i know how you feel mate,been there and done that with them mate ,total shower of sh1te ,if ya need something for easter order the bloody stuff now ,what is really galling about them is that some of there prices are very good ,but ive never used them since my do with them ..............

They seem to advertise plenty, noticed a large ad in this months TF magazine and they have a decent web site with a lot of items. Seems odd for them to act in this manner
