Lakeside at Ranskill? small puddle, well stocked and easy fishing .about a dozen metal platforms round it, make sure you dont stand on your line. Railway end of the pond is best.

yeah it is a shame that they stoped the trout fishing as the lake was rather nice of my memory serves me correctly.....i last fished it 20 years ago!! It is all match and carp lakes now with i think a specimen lake aswell. Surely with 8 lakes they could have one for the ones of us who know what fishing is really about

Hatfield marina used to let you trout fish there but they stopped that a few years ago and it is just windsurf and jetski now i believe.......at 30ft deep or so i reckon that there are a few monsters in there now!! My dad had the lake record back in 1984 with a rainbow of 10lb 12oz, not massive but if it has survived.........

I fished at Lindholm on several occasions. It was a nice water that used to respond well to midge pupa and sedges in a summers evening.

But due to pressure from shock stik carp anglers, it was made into a match lake.
