Default double taper v weight forward line profile ?

can anyone tell me if a double taper line, say a 6wt is 10 grams over the first 30 feet on both sides ? like a wf line or is it,s weight mesured to the middle of the line at 45 feet ?. Also what line gives the best presentation dt or wf ?

Default line

Why do you want to know the weight over the length ? both lines wf/ dt land perfectly well if cast right, not really much difference in the two end tapers,of course different makes have different tapers

The first 30ft of 5, 6 & 7 lines should be as follows -

5wt - 9.1g
6wt - 10.4g
7wt - 12g

For a double taper 6, the first 30ft at both ends should weigh around 10.4g however, and obviously, with a weight forward only the head end will weigh 10.4g for the first 30ft. The other end, 30ft of thin running line, will obviously weigh less than 10.4g.

"Also what line gives the best presentation dt or wf ?"

The answer to that one is that you can present equally badly or well with both.

I wanted to know the weight over length to detter wether you would need 45 ft of a dt to equall the first 30 ft of a wf.
Thanks for your help.

No.

For the AFTM system to 'work', like must be compared with like ... so it's the first 30ft whether double taper or weight forward.
