Default Buzzer patterns

Hi
I have been looking at different patterns and was wondering why some buzzers have a Red and sometimes white marabou tail? Is there any advantage these have over the others?

Red marabou could represent the larval stage of the Midge, called the bloodworm.
When retrived, the jerking action of the marabou can imitate the lashing motion of the larvae.
I have no idea what a white marabou tail is supposed to be, unless it is only 2 or 3mm long, in which case it would imitate the midge pupa breathing filaments which are more prominent at the head than the tail.
