Default useful tackle

Today when putting up Christmas decorations my Mrs discovered that my fishing tackle actually did have a use after all. She used some of my leader to hang stars all over the flippin place.

Got me wondering if you or someone in your house had ever found a use for your tackle other than what it's intended for?

A mate of mine thinks that an airflo 40+ is only any good for tying up runner beans in the garden

I have items of tackle, rods, reels, lines and various accessories that have not seen the light of day for 40 years and they're all useful ...... OK!

Wanna' make an issue of it?

For the uninitiated, the Airflo 40+ is a great line for night time sea trout fishing - turns over bulky flies like surface lures etc ... check out some of the knowledge available on the more informed Sea Trout forums.

I have an old Pezon & Michel cane rod that is great for poking down the drains when they get blocked. It's a 7-weight which is much better than the light stuff for that sort of work.

However, the thread is about what other people use your tackle for, so that's not really to the point.

My wife sometimes uses my Pezon & Michel cane rod to hang her white blouses on to help them dry.

I have 12lb Daiwa sensor mono all round the eaves of my house.
Three times to stop the house martins nesting, I love them, but boy do they make a mess.
