Default Caught my first Trout on the Fly...

Thanks all for the great advice, I visited Hazel Copse and second cast caught my first Trout on the fly....happy days

I spoke to Wilf and he recommended something orange, the water was coloured due to heavy rain but the Orange Daddy I have did the business second cast.

I tried a couple of other patterns, buzzers etc and had a tug on a Damsel. I put the Orange Daddy back on and first cast was in again.

So a big thanks to everybody and now I can't wait until tuesday and another day on the water.

Default Well DOne

Well Done!!!

Wilf is a top fellow and always willing to help.

Congratulations indeed

How was the fight? Wilf often stocks some seriously high octane fish that can really pull your string.

I am sure this will be the first of many

Ben

There's nothing like it ....and the thing is you're the one who's now been firmly hooked.

The first didn't fight too hard, but the second one was a thicker fish and kept trying to get into the undercut of the bank, I just kept a bit of side strain on him and eventualy he came to the net.

I know they weren't the biggest fish in the water but they were very welcome non the less.

It seemed a little slow, I guess the colour of the water wasn't helping too much. I spoke to a local guy and he confrmed it was a bit slower than usual. That just makes my catch the sweeter.

It's really nice to know what a take feels like, I'm off to Vale on Tuesday so hopefully a couple more in the bag there.

It's a very exciting way to fish, I jumped out of my skin when a fish crashed right next to my fly.

I get alot of satisfaction from making a good cast so a take is like an added bonus.

Well done.Which pool did you catch from?
Ok,Vale end-the small pool will almost certainly be coloured due to the stream running in, more so as more heavy rain is forecast for tomorrow.
Take a look at the site for reports
Albury Estate Fisheries.
