Default Big Fish Awards 2009

Guys

I'm going to award myself the prize for the least number of fish caught in 2009. A big 'Zero' ...beat that!

I'm interested in who wins the award for:
  • the biggest fish (by species)
  • the smallest fish
  • most fish caught
  • best cast
  • worst cast
  • most embarrassing moment
  • most spoilt
  • most generous
  • best lips award
  • create your own category award
Everyone has to nominate themselves (or someone else) for something.

Photographic evidence welcome.

Open for nominations now...

Default Most Spoilt Award

May I nominate myself for the 'Most Spoilt Award' when that most affable gentleman, Loopy, took me fishing at Amwell Magna. A most enjoyable and memorable day even though I didnt catch a fish.

Secondly for when perennial evergreen, Mrtrout, who has graced my postbox with some special treats for use out on the water.

I fancy that a 'Most Generous' award be awarded to a few fellows on here have graced our Forum with gifts of rods and reels to those less fortunate anglers. A huge bravo to them all

Ben

Come on - there must be some more nominations for this. Who's caught the biggest fish this season...or have you all blanked?

I nominate myself for the most embarrasing award, bordering on the Darwinian Awards!

About 8 weeks ago my hat blew off on a particular windy day at a local fishery. The hat landed on the water and slowly began to drfit away from the bank until approx 12-15ft away when it sank to the bottom approx 18" down. I tried numerous casts to try and hook the hat like the old 'hook a duck' type arrangements form the fairground without any success.
Being persistent and not wanting to loose the hat I decided i would need to get a foot wet and step into the pond to try and hook the hat with the tip of my rod at full stretch....again it was just out of my reach and as I tried to get my foot back I found it had become stuck in the soft mud at the bottom of the pond.

Pulling my stuck leg I lost my balance shifted awkwardly forward and snapped the tip of my rod.

Now severly peeved I decided I was going to get the hat back come hook or crook so piulled my foot out of the boot, waded into the pond, retrived my hat, retrived my stuck boot on the way back in, packed up, went home and have never returned to that fishery for fear of the mocking I will get.

Worst of all the hat was a £3 cheapie that ended up costing me a new rod and much riddicule

.....I still hear the laughter from my esteemed fellow anglers when I wake up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night
