So many moans and groans about quality of fish,bad service,lack of scenery,blanking,little puddles,I could go on and on.

But why is it that anglers still visit these waters which they moan about instead of going to the many very good waters there is and give the bad ones a miss?

Why moan and then give them your money?

Because Kevin it is just human nature if they were not moaning about small fisheries they would be moaning about something else, they were probably put out of the house by the moaning wife

It's the same as anything. People moan about TV shows, Movies, poor restuarants anything they percieve as offensive, dissapointing or over priced.

However, they choose to pay for, watch and listen to these things. Just like us reading their views and wishing we hadn't.

The simple answer is, don't!

Come on Kevin, if they werent moaning about the quality of fishing, they would be moaning about the weather/politics/state of the nation/not getting any 'leg over' or all of the above.


Personally, I take my fishing when and where I can get it and will only complain should I receive poor or substandard service.

That said, I have only had cause to complain and that was due to terrible service from a Charter Boat skipper in South Africa who tackle was appalling - missing eyes from rods, half empty reel spools, re-used bait (defrosted, frozen and defrosted again!!) and general poor service.

I havent really had cause to complain here in the UK though have come across fisheries that for one reason or another I just wont use again.


No sense complaining unless you will do something about it - take the owner to task if you have a justified reason or just dont visit again.

Personally, I think many fisheries would rather hear of your gripes (justified or not) so that they can at least be aware of any potential problems or justified concerns from their punters!


Kevin, I am sure you could comment on this front?
