Default Chatton Fishery, Northumberland

I might be going to the area later this month and have heard good reports about Chatton. I looked up their website and notice that 'a rod licence is not required'.

Question 1:- Is this a fishery worth a visit?

Question 2:- Can anybody explain why no licence is needed?

Because it's part of the River Till system, which is itself part of the River Tweed system, so is covered by Scottish Law. Hence no EA licence is needed.

Definatley worth a visit, never heard a bad report on Chatton. Good fishing and friendly owners

And Yorkio is correct with the EA rod licence situation

Have a look on the Game Angler Forum and you will get some info on Chatton, great fishery and fantastic people running the show.

I can only endorse what's already been said. Had a fine day there last year and the owners are delightful. Sit in the Alpine lodge with your back to the door and it could be Gstaad...
