All I know about them is one solitary sentence in wikipedia (so it must be true):

"There are several small chalk streams in the Lincolnshire Wolds including Waithe Beck and the River Bain."

I read the title to this thread, and if you weren't already talking about Lincolnshire, I would have had to correct you - it is a toughie having just moved down from Edinburgh where I had the choice of rivers within easy reach!!

There is a syndicate on the Gt Eau near Alford. The Gt Eau is a small, but healthy chalkstream! I have yet to fish it having only just joined.

Waithe Beck is another I've heard of but no direct contacts for fishing have yet materialised

I'm told some opt for the 2 hour drive over the Humber bridge to Driffield Beck in the North York Moors. Yorkshire is the nearest honey pot it seems!!

I join you as a fellow River Fly nomad!!

My dog cowers at the sound of the Eurofighter on test flights around the (Bomber) County, and low flying C130 Hercules!!

It seems the fly fishing highlight anywhere north of Lincoln is a concrete bowl near Market Rasen akin to Walthamstow - nothing wrong with that some might say - but a high moorland stream it is not!!
