Default Bait pond at local fishery

I was fishing today with my son, local stillwater fishery it has a medium fly only lake and a beginners only bait lake close beside eachother. We managed to catch 4, myself 1 and my boy 3 all on intermediate line and orange blobs.
A guy fishing the smaller bait pond had great results, including one fish of over 6lbs, which he killed, didnt like that at all.I asked him what was he using worms/sweetcorn/bread ?He replied NO ,he used a boobie fished with a small drilled bullet and a swivel. He couldnt go wrong,he said i just cast in the line and the water current and wind moves his line and the boobie dives up and down . I said to him that this was a form of cheating ,how could he possibly enjoy this sort of fishing. It is like sea fishing from a boat with boat rod and a jig,he repiled to me that whats the difference between me doing it on the bait pond and fly fishers doing it on the fly lake with fast sinking lines?
I replied that the bait pond was for bait only and not flys,he said to me that his fly was bait.

Default bait pond

The point i am making is that, i should have mentioned it earlier. The bait pond only allows worms, sweetcorn and bread as bait.
