Default marking flyline

Can anyone recommend a marker to mark floating flylines that won't come off?.I've tried a few so called permanent markers only for the marks to come off during use.

Thin Heatshrink 1.2mm recovered size is perfect, or a few turns of brightly coloured braid, or a small notch of tying thread.

Sharpie pens, as reccomended by joan wulff, you get them in asda/tesco, stick to the black ones though, the red and green fade.

Default Both good answers above.

Ups and downs of the choice? With the first, you will have to 'remark' the line at some point .. but cheaper than chips to do so. The second answer is also a good one, BUT that said, regardless of size you will feel this thing going through the rod guides.

On a 'two-hander, ' not a bad thing as you've heard the 'click' on where the casting point is, for the next one (yes, you can have your eyes closed .. which I actually recommend for practice) .... many would say no as it can be a pain in the butt. For others? A YaZerr.

Your call.

I tried the red sharpie a while back as it was all i had, as zoomer says it runs. I then tried a steadtler lumocolour black, it runs. After that i just didn't trust trying the black sharpie.

Only one i have personally used and got to stick 100% permanently with no fade at all is a Uni Paint Marker PX-21. Any gloss paint marker will probably work.
