I use bits of roughly circular cardboard that has three "tongues" projecting from the outer rim, a slit at the outer rim, and a hole in the centre - would be so much easier if I knew how to post a diagram. Anyway, the point fly is stuck into the edge of the centre hole, then you just wind your leader round the outside, in and out of the three tongues so the leader forms a triangular shape and has something to stop it just falling off the sides. Each dropper fly can be tied on in advance and because its made of cardboard, not plastic, the dropper flies can be stuck into the cardboard too under enough tension to stop them coming off. When you've finished winding, the end of the leader (the end without the point fly on it!) just slips into the slit by the rim and friction keeps it there and stops the whole thing unravelling.
I shy away from the plastic versions of this because the droppers are never quite the right length to keep them in the available holes.
I find this is better than simply carefully winding up the leader and storing it in a plastic wallet since, even then, I always get it tangled when I try and unravel it. Also means I have the flies pre-tied onto the leader/droppers.
The only downside is the leader gets a little kinked, but nothing a gentle stretch doesn't solve.
